Summary:

Welcome to the MS Challenge Blog, a forum designed to support the Central New England chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's MS Challenge Walk.

This September, volunteers from around the country will gather on Massachusetts' Cape Cod to walk for three days and fifty miles, raising money for and awareness of multiple sclerosis in an annual event known as the MS Challenge Walk. This blog is designed to help anyone undertaking that goal.

This blog will give you a look at the training, fundraising, and inspiration that are a part of the experience. We hope to give you ideas, answer your questions, and invite you to share your thoughts and stories. You can use the blog categories (listed to the right) to read posts on specific topics, or you can sign up for free email updates, so you won't have to remember to come back to read our latest posts. You can leave public responses to these posts and to each other — no signup or registration needed! If you're organizing a Challenge Walk-related fundraising or training event, you can submit it to our event calendar.

Whether you are an experienced walker looking to share your stories, a first-time walker needing some support, or someone who is considering signing up and wants an inside look at the event and the community around it, the MS Challenge Blog is for you. We look forward to seeing you, both online and on the trail!

Ken joined the MS Challenge Walk in 2005, more than a decade after his mother was diagnosed. After walking for three years and 150 miles, he switched to the support crew and now rides his bicycle along the trail, providing whatever encouragement (and snacks!) he can to the 600 walkers. He is also an alumnus of the event's steering committee and is this site's webmaster.
